SDI adalah indikator utama potensi penyumbatan membran yang disebabkan oleh partikel tersuspensi halus dalam air (misalnya campuran koloid organik, produk korosi (seperti oksida besi), hidroksida logam yang mengendap, alga, dan debris mikroskopis lainnya.<\/p>\n
